Holiday Party at Shipyard Park222 viewsThe community turned out for a wonderful late afternoon of lights, music, food and fun at the annual Holiday Party at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett hosted by the Lions Club. The Lions were collecting non-perishable food and unwrapped new toys to distribute to those in need during the holiday. Lighten Up222 viewsThird-graders on June 16 performed their play “Lighten Up,” donning rainbow wigs, gigantic glasses, tutus, and brightly colored mustaches to remind everyone to not take themselves so seriously all the time. Tour de Crème222 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust in tandem with the Mattapoisett Bike Path Committee held its first Tour de Crème on Sunday, May 22. The fundraiser brought groups on three different courses – 13-, 25-, and 48-miles long – winding their way through area towns and making stops at various local ice cream parlors. At Silvershell Beach in Marion, the Marion Recreation Department provided an array of food, fun, and games for beachgoers, and in Mattapoisett, kids enjoyed face painting, sack races, and, of course, plenty of sun.
