Happy Days at Harbor Days 278 viewsIt all seems to come and go so quickly year after year, but while the Harbors Days are here the people of Mattapoisett and surrounding towns make time to enjoy the annual seaside event – the fish fry, lobster feast, pancake breakfast, and arts and crafts – that the Mattapoisett Lions Club works so hard all year round to keep going. Holiday in the Park278 viewsIt looked like another record turnout at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett on December 9 for the annual Holiday in the Park and tree lighting. The tent was stuffed with hot foods, cocoa, donuts, Christmas cookies, and the hundreds of people in line to warm up out of the snowy cold. Did you miss the tree lighting? See The Wanderer Facebook page for a video capturing the magical moment. Photos by Jean Perry

Freezin’ for a Reason278 viewsJanuary 1 found locals Freezin’ for a Reason again at the annual polar plunge fundraiser to benefit those who are fighting cancer in our own community. At Mattapoisett Town Beach that morning, the air temperature was in the single digits and the water was a frigid 40 degrees. Photos by Glenn C. Silva
