Sassy370 viewsMeet Sassy who has spent 16 years taking care of her humans and for many years was a fixture on the Mattapoisett wharves. Originally purchased by Mattapoisett ACO Kathy Massey, Sassy was then acquired from Massey when she was just a few weeks old by Arthur and Irene Frates. More than a decade later, Sassy still provides love and tenderness to the remaining members of her two-legged family, Arthur and Irene’s son, Robert, and his wife Elizabeth. Rob and Elizabeth feel “blessed” and call Sassy a “saint.”

Family Fun Festival 370 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home.
