The Scoop on S.C.O.P.E. 332 viewsORRJHS 7th-grade students participated in the annual S.C.O.P.E. cardboard boat race at the beach at the Mattapoisett YMCA last Wednesday, June 20. The students engineer and build their boats – some sink, some sail – and this year team “Funky Monkey” came in first place. There were 15 boats in all this year, all created by teams of four. Tuckerfest332 viewsOn Saturday, Tabor Academy hosted the first annual Tuckerfest, a fundraiser honoring Tucker Francis whose life was cut short while diving during the school’s Caribbean Studies program on January 31, 2017. The goal is to raise $100,000 to fund two students to attend the REEF program in Tucker’s memory. As of Saturday, about $65,000 had been raised. Photos by Jean Perry

The show was a creative, educational collaboration between grade 4 teachers, music teachers Sue Audette and Chris Williamson, and art teacher Joanne Smith. Quoting RMS Principal Derek Medeiros: "This grade 4 production is a wonderful representation of our goal to ensure global experiences for our students through our strategic and school improvement plans.
