Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race147 viewsThe Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race was held on May 31 and this year was back to the complete course after holding a half-length race in 2020. The turnout wasn’t quite what it’s been in recent years, but no one was blaming the pandemic or the weekend’s gloomy weather. Photos by Ryan Feeney

Earlier in the day, a Mattapoisett Fire truck monitored the scene after a downed powerline caused a fire and closed Water Street down the street from Town Hall. Little Free Diverse Library145 viewsIt's been a year since Tri-Town Against Racism’s first Little Free Diverse Library was installed at Ned's Point in Mattapoisett, and on May 12 TTAR members along with supporters gathered again to celebrate, this time the reopening of the little library that in November 2021 had been vandalized, destroying both the structure and the books it held. That senseless act only fostered a stronger sense of purpose and community unity. Photos by Marilou Newell
