Memorial Day Boat Race327 viewsThe Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race went off with very few hitches, despite the bursting of the bog flume at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir just a couple days before the race. This year the weather was fine – maybe a tad hot for the racers, says Boat Race Chairman Art Benner, but great weather to kick off the summer season. Photos by Jean Perry

New Year’s Eve327 viewsThe Taber Library knows that it’s hard for the little ones to stay up until midnight on New Year’s Eve, which is why Children’s Librarian Rosemary Grey hosted a midday mock-midnight New year’s Eve-Day party, complete with party tiaras, horns, snacks, and don’t forget the bubbly apple juice! On Saturday, September 18, the Brad Barrows motorcycle run raised money for Tri-Town youth sports, and on Sunday, September 19, the Ride for Alex poker run raised money to offset medical costs for Alex Pateakos, a Marion boy who lives with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
