New England Waters489 viewsEven in the throes of winter, seaside life persists in the icy cold New England waters. On Monday, January 19, two men were seen digging for quahogs during low tide in Mattapoisett Harbor at the end of Reservation Road. Donning waders and wielding rakes, the two men persisted in their winter work, while seagulls above them did the same. Photo by Colin Veitch. January 22, 2015 edition

Baby Geese489 viewsThey’re here! Facebook is buzzing about the cuteness that is the baby Canada geese on Rounseville Road in Rochester that finally hatched last week. The six goslings and their parents can be seen foraging in the grass for food or swimming in the small pond near the Vaughan Hill Road intersection. But beware! Canada geese are very protective of their young – you’ve been warned! These babies will remain with their parents for one year. Photo by Jean Perry
