Eeeeeeee431 viewsEastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) is on everyones minds this week as the state grapples with how to address the high levels of EEE found in mosquito samples. The Mattapoisett, Marion and Rochester Boards of Health canceled all evening activities on town grounds, and announced 6:00 pm closures of ball parks, playgrounds and town beaches as a result of what the state is calling a public health threat.

Autumn431 viewsThe fall foliage in this Mattapoisett village tree endured last weekâs rain and wind well into the weekend, keeping observers suspended in another moment of autumnal bliss. If you look again closely you might see someone familiar staring back at you. Photo by Colin Veitch. November 5, 2015 edition

Plasticastrophe! 431 viewsIt doesnât matter that sheâs about to be eaten by King Kong â Barbie stays smiling, as do all the Barbies planted in Teresa Dallâs âBarbie Gardenâ of 16 North Street in Mattapoisett. Here, Barbie manages to display a little Fourth of July spirit while making imminent annihilation appear blissful. Photo (and flag accessory) by Jean Perry - July 5, 2018 edition

Colorblindness Corrective Glasses431 viewsI was colorblind, but now I see â The Mattapoisett Lions Club has donated a pair of colorblindness corrective glasses to the Mattapoisett Library, and are now part of the libraryâs ever-growing collection of âthingsâ to check out. Last time, my partner Scott and I checked out a metal detector and had ourselves an adventure. This time, we checked out the glasses and took them around town to see if Scott, who was born with a red-green color vision deficit, could catch a glimpse of a world in vivid color.

Chicago the Musicals430 viewsChicago is coming twice to the Tri-Town first at Tabor Academy and then at Old Rochester Regional High School.
