Touch-A-Truck 442 viewsMarion Recreation held its 8th annual Touch-A-Truck event at Washburn Park on May 11. The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether. The weather was sublime this year, drawing hundreds to the park for some fun and free food courtesy of the Recreation Department. Photos by Jean Perry May 16, 2019 edition
The Eagle Has Landed441 viewsMarion resident Hope Vary was “blown away” to see a bald eagle perched in the trees above her 2010 Labor Day cookout. The eagle sighting in Marion was indicative of the population recovery that bald eagles are making in the United States. Although they are still considered endangered in Massachusetts, they have been taken off the federal list of endangered species. Photo by Hope Vary.
