Tree Spree477 viewsThe Sippican Woman’s Club held their annual Tree Spree House Tour on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Visitors enjoyed Marion buildings festively decorated for the holiday season. There were 12 stops on the tour, including 5 private residences and several historical town buildings. Handy’s Tavern was especially awe-inspiring, with over 50 decorated trees. Celebrating Freedom477 viewsDespite funding setbacks, the Marion fireworks took place this year at Silver Shell Beach under perfectly clear skies. Revelers enjoyed the patriotic music of Phil Sanborn and the Marion Concert Band while brilliant colors illuminated the harbor. Unless the town can secure a permanent source of funding, next year’s fireworks may be in jeopardy. Photo by Felix Perez.
