Leaves of ‘Sass’ 609 viewsApril is, among other things, National Poetry Month, and the ‘poet-tree’ at the Mattapoisett Library keeps growing with new poem leaves springing up every day. We especially liked the message on this leaf: “When life gives you lemons, make orange juice. Be unique.” Right on, young sassy poet… Stop by and post a poem of your own before April is over. House Boat608 viewsOn September 22, a construction crew continues to work on dislodging a house on Wilbers Point in Fairhaven. The house will be loaded onto a barge and floated over Buzzards Bay to its new location on Brant Beach Ave. in Mattapoisett. Since tides and winds are critical to safely moving the house, the move has been rescheduled several times. Photo by Anne OBrien-Kakley

Spring608 viewsWe are just wild about the unfolding signs of spring! This patch of crocuses was spotted alongside Mattapoisett Road in Rochester. The purple blossoms were buzzing with dozens and dozens of bees already in the swing of spring. Photo by Jean Perry - March 2, 2017 edition

Needs for Nepal605 viewsORR Junior High Student Ambassadors (front, from left) Amanda Frey, Hanna Walsh and Mariah Allen pose with (back, from left) Sally Hunsdorfer and Dawa Sherpa from Nepal during the kickoff presentation for the schools Himalayan Project. Last Snow? Hope So!599 viewsEven though the February 10, 2010 nor'easter didn't bring as much snow as forecasters predicted, it was still a sizable late winter storm. Pictured on the front cover is the Hiller Farm in Rochester the day after the storm, where even the horses are dreaming about spring. Photo by Anne O'Brien-Kakley. February 18, 2010 edition
