According to Erin Bednarczyk, the weather was ideal for the 15 students who ran on Sunday – 10 running the marathon, four the half-marathon, and one the 5K. Ironman532 viewsMattapoisett native Shane Wilhelmsen completed the Ironman competition in Mont Tremblant, Canada on Sunday, August 19. Hosted by the Mattapoisett Lions Club every year, the triathlon takes racers .25 miles from the shore of Town Beach and back, 10 miles bicycling through Mattapoisett, and 5K through the village around Ned’s Point Lighthouse.
