Some form galls, others go into a deep hibernation, some freeze solid, and others hide inside or under things like trees or leaves. Marion Natural History Museum47 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted a program last Friday on the Ocean Twilight Zone with Dr. Benjamin Grassian of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). Dr. Grassian is researching Diel Vertical Migration, or the daily vertical migration of animals in the mesopelagic zone of the ocean in response to light and predation. Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Parish 63 viewsOn Sunday, November 17th parishioners at Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Parish in Marion created over two hundred apple pies at its annual “Great Pie Challenge”. This annual intergenerational event was brought to Marion by Wendy Reardon who is St. Gabriel’s Director of Youth and Family Formation. About 150 pies will be donated to local organizations who will give them away to people in need. The rest of the pies will be sold as a fundraiser which will help raise money for the 2025 Youth Mission Trip heading to NNov 20, 2024
