Locks of Love899 viewsRochester sisters Arissa Anne Underhill (age 9) and Deianeira Marie Underhill (age 7), both students at Rochester’s Memorial School, recently had their hair cut to be donated to the charity “Locks of Love.” Hairdresser “Deb F.” of Hair and Body Solutions in Rochester cut the girls’ long locks which will be donated to make wigs for children suffering hair loss due to cancer treatments. Both girls were born with their own medical issues and received years of care from local hospitals.Jun 20, 2006

In The Avenue of the Giants Marathon, Mercy came in third in her class, Fred fourth in his, and both qualified for Boston in April. Students were treated to a hands-on experience with old toys, primitive household items and educational tools, and learned about early church customs, Rochester’s Native Americans, and changes in the town boundaries as Marion, Mattapoisett, and Wareham eventually broke off from the large township of Rochester to form their own towns.Jun 13, 2006

ORR Relay for Life915 viewsJust some of the nearly 200 students, teachers, family members and friends who recently participated in the Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society (ACS) at Old Rochester Regional High School on Friday, June 10. The fund-raising event kicked off with the first laps led by cancer survivors, while 17 teams of walkers continued on throughout the 18-hour event.
