Walk for Hunger494 viewsVolunteer Becky Jenkinson of Rochester and Hannah Fels braved rainy weather to direct Walker traffic at Project Bread’s 40th annual Walk for Hunger recently. More than 40,000 dedicated Walkers showed their commitment to the cause by taking part in the event that raised a record-breaking $3.8 million. Funds go to emergency food programs, which are facing steep increases in the cost of food and fuel. For more information, visit www.projectbread.org.May 28, 2008

Brownie Troop 82 served guests refreshments, chatted with the ladies, sang a few songs and danced around a May pole. They also made sure each guest received a flower pen that the girls made at their meetings. (Photo courtesy of Heather Bichsel).
