Chest Returns375 viewsBeth Mills stands in front of the pine and mahogany chest of drawers made by her grandfather, Charles Johnson, who was an undertaker and cabinet-maker in Mattapoisett at the turn of the 20th century. The chest of drawers remained with her until she passed away in 2008 at the age of 99. Her friends John and Caroline Belloti contacted the Mattapoisett Historical Society after her passing to fulfill her wish that the chest remain with the Mattapoisett Museum, just around the corner from where it was made.
