River Road Flood341 viewsA rainstorm on March 29 and 30 wreaked havoc on Massachusetts, leaving the Commonwealth in a state of emergency. The real fall-out didn’t arrive until March 31, when water tables reached record heights and dams in the region were tested to their maximum capacity. The Hathaway Pond Dam in Rochester needed reinforcement with sandbags and the area of Plumb Corner and Dexter Lane became a makeshift pond. The Mattapoisett River overflowed its banks, shutting down River Road for a day. Photos by Tim Smith.Apr 07, 2010

iPad Ready470 viewsSpring has sprung! After a wild March 2010 storm that left much of Massachusetts flooded, the region has been treated to unseasonably warm weather in early April. Easter weekend topped out in the 70s, about 20 degrees higher than usual, which meant lots of daffodils and fun in the sun. Photo by Anne O’Brien-Kakley.Apr 07, 2010
