Bugs, bugs, bugs316 viewsDo you know the difference between a bug and an insect? Are you well-versed in the parts of an insect – the head, thorax and abdomen? It was all things bugs when a Mad Scientist came to the Plumb Library in Rochester on April 22, 2010. Over a dozen children enjoyed the April vacation bug demonstration with hands-on activities and learning fun. Photo by Anne O’Brien-Kakley.Apr 28, 2010

Hurricane of 1938475 viewsMattapoisett resident Tim Smith purchased a collection of original Hurricane of 1938 photographs from an auction recently. The photographs show the devastation of the legendary hurricane in the area of Mattapoisett’s Silver Shell Beach and Angelica Point. Mr. Smith does not believe that the pictures have ever been published, and gave The Wanderer the first chance at publishing the photos. He intends on donating the collection to the Mattapoisett Historical Museum. Photos courtesy of Tim Smith.Apr 28, 2010
