Caterpillar2.jpg
Monarch Caterpillar 404 viewsA monarch caterpillar devours a milkweed leaf in a small Mattapoisett meadow. Having probably been the last of the four generations of monarchs born since the start of the spring migration back to Mattapoisett (monarchs only enjoy a butterfly existence for two to six weeks), this caterpillar will undergo metamorphosis and likely be one of those that will soon head south to Mexico, flying two miles high in the sky.
