Locks of Love903 viewsWhile getting a back to school haircut, Camryn McNamara of Mattapoisett recently donated over 13 inches of hair to the charity “Locks of Love.” The organization provides wigs to children suffering from Alopecia or long-term hair loss due to illness. Camryn is a second grader at Center School in Mattpoisett and hopes some of her classmates might think about doing the same. “It made me feel very happy to give someone my hair who doesn’t have any,” she said.Aug 31, 2006

Students were treated to a hands-on experience with old toys, primitive household items and educational tools, and learned about early church customs, Rochester’s Native Americans, and changes in the town boundaries as Marion, Mattapoisett, and Wareham eventually broke off from the large township of Rochester to form their own towns.Jun 13, 2006

ORR Relay for Life949 viewsJust some of the nearly 200 students, teachers, family members and friends who recently participated in the Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society (ACS) at Old Rochester Regional High School on Friday, June 10. The fund-raising event kicked off with the first laps led by cancer survivors, while 17 teams of walkers continued on throughout the 18-hour event.
