Mom's Marathon '07506 viewsAn estimated 400 runners and walkers came out to the Oxford Creamery in Mattapoisett on Sunday, May 13 to participate in the first annual Tiara Classic Mother’s Day 5K Road Race. The race was held to benefit the Women’s Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts. Many of the runners donned tiaras and capes, making this event one of the more colorful local road races. Local Idols519 viewsMembers of the Showstoppers Musical Entertainment based in Mattapoisett recently took top honors at two regional Performing Arts Competitions. Nine girls competed with six entries at the Dynamite National Talent Competition at Quinsigamond College in Worcester on April 14 and ten girls competed with eight entries in the Headliners Performing Arts Competition held at East Providence High School in East Providence, RI.
