Phoning It In1151 viewsThe ORR Athletic Booster Club (ORRABC) will hold their annual Phonathon Fundraiser from March 4 - March 20, 2008. Funds raised by the Booster Club have been used to enhance the school’s athletic facilities and to purchase equipment used by all of the teams. Last year the ORR Girls’ Track Team (pictured here) purchased a golf cart using their team funds raised through Booster Club calendar sales which is used by the school’s athletic trainer to respond to athletes in need of care.

Judo Champ556 viewsAlyssa Quaintance of Rochester recently took first place in the 5- to 6-year-old division at the Mass State Championships held on January 27 in Wakefield, MA. None of her three matches lasted more than 30 seconds as she ran through the competition. Alyssa won all her matches by Ippon, which is similar to a knockout in boxing. A Rochester resident for some 70 years who used to summer in Marion, Mr. Lionberger turned 105 on December 26 but celebrated the milestone early on Christmas Eve with several family members and friends.
