Marion Art Center38 viewsLaser wood-cutting techniques used by artist Makerjake, aka Jacob Ginga, combine contemporary themes with those of his native heritage. Together with Narragansett tribal member Max Brown-Garcia, who has supplied Native American regalia pieces, and Vincent Mancini's creations from cut feathers, these sacred works are part of the Marion Art Center’s indigenous art exhibit, “Exploring Native American Culture: Art, Craft and Inspiration,” through March 25. Marion Art Center91 views“Curiosity” by painter Jane Egan is a petite framed oil on canvas. It is joy in the form of a playful cow close-up. The technique of layering oils to create a realistic tactile surface gives the curious bovine a more realistic appearance. This engaging piece and many more are featured in the Marion Art Center’s 2022 Winter Members Show on exhibit through February 11. Photo by Marilou Newell
