The museum’s after-school group had a chance to hear about engines and what goes into making a rocket. Then the students built their own rockets, with nosecones, parachutes and motors and went outside to launch them. The program was a huge success, and all the rockets were successfully launched. Bird Island32 viewsMany thanks to Marion Harbormaster Isaac Perry and the whole harbormaster crew for giving us the experience of a lifetime exploring the nesting habitats of the Common and Roseate Terns when they're in our area. Bird Island has had an extensive amount of work done to promote successful nesting habitat for these species, and it looks like it has paid off. The students had a blast, carefully walking around birds’ eggs and nests on their way to the Bird Island Lighthouse for a quick tour to the top to learn a
