Mattapoisett Fire Department311 viewsOn Sunday, firefighters completed a 110-floor stair climb in full structural firefighting gear in Portland, Maine in honor of the 343 FDNY firefighters killed on 9/11. The climb was sponsored by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and each climber was assigned a fallen FDNY firefighters accountability tag with their name and picture, which made the climb that much more important to everyone involved.

Doggie Walk-A-Thon206 viewsThe Doggie Walk-A-Thon held on August 26 in Mattapoisett village is the brainchild of Freemin Bauer, whose dream is to one day create a dog park in town. Bauer’s dog walk-a-thon last year for his Boy Scout Eagle project raised money to make repairs to the Fairhaven Animal Shelter. This year, he raised money towards a dog park.
