Essay Contest Winner526 viewsHeidi Schneider, an eighth grade student at Friends Academy in North Dartmouth, won first prize in the Dartmouth, Massachusetts VFW Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest. The Patriot’s Pen essay contest gives sixth, seventh and eighth grade students the opportunity to express their opinion on a patriotic theme and improve their writing skills, while they compete for worthwhile awards and prizes. Friends Academy’s seventh and eighth grade English teacher Lauren Corliss encouraged all of her students to participate in the essay writing contest.
