Feestaardvarken469 viewsFeestaardvarken (Party Aardvark) is a 30-meter long (98 feet) concrete sculpture located in the center of Arnhem in the Netherlands. The sculpture was commissioned by Burgers’ Zoo to commemorate their 100th anniversary in 2013. It was created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, who has many great works including a giant rubber duck that has been displayed around the world. While there they enjoyed the first snow of the season in the first week of October as well as a visit to the black sand beached near Grótta which is just east of Reykjavík. The black sand on the beaches are made from lava which has been tumbled by the surf for centuries.
