03-22-011061 views3,000 Miles to Graceland ... well, maybe not quite that far, but it was certainly a long way for this foursome to go to pose with a copy of The Wanderer — just outside the entrance to “The King’s” former home in Memphis, Tennessee. While most of the students and faculty at Tabor Academy in Marion headed to warmer climates for the recent Spring Break, this entourage spent three days visiting the home and city that Elvis Presley so dearly loved. Pictured here outside Graceland are (l. to r.) Dana Palmer-Donnelly, formerly of Marion and now of Hingham; her mother Donna Palmer of Marion, a member of the Tabor Academy staff and a lifelong Elvis fan; and Tina and Winslow Lewis of Falmouth, the parents of a Tabor Academy senior. Also along for the trip (but not pictured) were Chris and Shelley Wells of Orleans. 3/22/01 edition

03-22-01-21012 viewsThe LePage and Towers families of Rochester recently headed for cooler climes during February vacation when they visited Whistler Mountain in British Columbia, Canada and took along a piece of home with them in the form of their favorite weekly, The Wanderer, which they posed with here outside the ski resort’s Village Station at elevation 677 m. Pictured here are (l. to r.) Bill, Linda, Mary-Elizabeth, and Dan Towers; and Brad, Tina, Christopher, and Tara LePage, all of Rochester. 3/22/01 edition

A subscriber of The Wanderer, Ms. Miska took advantage of our invitation to send in photos of readers proudly posing in unique locations with copies of their favorite publication. Other readers who are encouraged to follow her lead may see themselves in print! (Photo by and courtesy of Stephanie Miska). 1/18/05 edition

Bush are Mattapoisett residents (l. to r.) Carrie Tucker, Tom Tucker, and their son, six-year-old Tommy Tucker, a student in Mrs. Evans’ Grade 1 class at Center School. The family obtained tickets to the historic event through Congressman Barney Frank’s office. (Photo by and courtesy of Carrie Tucker.) 1/25/01 edition

02-08-011015 viewsSusan Gould of Mattapoisett poses at a ski resort in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, with a copy of The Wanderer, adding yet another unique location to our gallery of readers. Ms. Gould recently took a trip to the winter getaway spot which offered ample snowboarding on 18 inches of “champagne powder” while there. Remember to take along a copy of your favorite local newspaper when traveling and be sure to pose outside a picturesque — and previously unsubmitted — locale. The two couples traveled with Caitlin and Jarod Swift, Kristen Searles, and Andrew and Matt King — all of whom were unavailable for the photo due to a much-needed hot chocolate break. 3/1/01 edition
