Since September 2009, the Marion Community Baptist Church has been participating in the Penny Project. Each Sunday, people dropped change into a collection jar on the communion table. On March 21, 2010, the Church presented two grants to two local agencies and two schools. The Penny Project’s goal is to combat poverty throughout America.
