The Rochester Memorial Day Boar Race took place this past Monday. The event, sponsored by the Rochester Fire Department, saw contestants build boats and race south along the Mattapoisett River. According to organizers, the race is 12 miles long, beginning in Grandma Hartley's Reservoir off Snipatuit Road and finishing just before Route 6. Photo by Sam Bishop
