Center School in Mattapoisett was temporarily evacuated on March 13 after a small transformer malfunctioned in the electrical room and created a light-smoke condition, according to Mattapoisett Fire Chief Andy Murray. The transformer was isolated and de-energized. The Fire Department ventilated the room and reset the alarm. All hazards were addressed, and the students, staff and Council on Aging personnel were allowed back in the building. Photo by Shawn Sweet
