Land at the Sousa Farm, the most recent acquisition of the Mattapoisett Land Trust, received some needed attention on October 2 when the Rant group of Mattapoisett, made up of Gary Johnson, Jack Dean, Gary Grosshart, Bill Cantor, and Matt Urquhart, went to the farm prepared with shears and trimmed off seed heads to prevent further new growth of a ¼-acre patch of an invasive species of tall grasses called phragmites australis.
