Twelve-year-old Simone Cardosa, who sang the song “I Believe,” was the overall winner in the First Annual Magic of Music Idol Contest which was held at the Knight’s of Columbus Hall in Mattapoisett on Saturday evening, February 23. The event was the brainchild of Rochester resident Jillian Marie Jensen, Miss Massachusetts Teen America 2007, and was a showcase for talented young performers who wished to display their singing abilities in an American Idol-style setting.
