February 7 was National Wear Red Day, and the students at the Sippican School assembled for their monthly all-school meeting decked out in red in support of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” raising awareness of the threat of heart disease for women. Sippican students raised a whopping $1,025 for the American Heart Association.
“[See] the kinds of great things that happen when we all get together?” Principal Evelyn Rivet said to students. The floor of the multi-purpose room was a sea of red, as students sat and enjoyed a performance by the Fourth Grade Band, followed by the Fourth Grade Concert Choir. Some students took to the stage and read the poems they wrote, and other shared their critiques on storybooks they read.
