The Mattapoisett Museum

Discover a gem in our own backyard – The Mattapoisett Museum. On Wednesday, July 24 from 6:30-7:30, come to the Mattapoisett Free Public Library and hear Connor Gaudet, curator of the Mattapoisett Museum, give a free presentation about our local history museum. The Museum is housed in an 1821 church building with attached replica carriage house. Learn about life in our unique town from past to present. Gaudet will speak about the Museum’s history, collections, and the new Summer Exhibit, Wanderer 100: The Afterlife and Legacy of Mattapoisett’s Last Whaler. Hear about recent exhibits and a very recent donation of a carved replica of the last whaling ship built in Mattapoisett, The Wanderer. Also learn about the wide range of programs the Museum offers. The Library is located at 7 Barstow Street and all are welcome.
