Even though February is the shortest month of the year, there is no shortage of things to do here at the Library.
Love chocolate? We have a travel-cupful of candy at the desk that you could win. Come in and take a guess at how many pieces are in the cup, closest guess wins the cup and the chocolate. This is for grown-ups only.
The book display in our hallway has been set up for Blind Date with a Book. Introduction cards are on the shelf giving you the genre, first line, and recommendation of books, but not the titles or authors. Bring a card to the desk to be introduced to your Blind Date. Who knows, maybe you’ll fall in love.
Can you tell a story in just 10 words? If you’re up to the challenge, we need you to help us fill our bulletin board. Submit your Ten Word Tale about your love of books, reading, or libraries and we’ll put it up on the board. Tales can be submitted in person or via email to info@plumblibrary.com (use subject “Ten Word Tales”).
Don’t forget about our bookclubs: The COA Group meets at 1:00 pm. Tuesday February 18 to discuss “Weyward” by Emilia Hart and Books and Babble meets at 6:30 pm Thursday February 27 to discuss “The Red Tent” by Anita Diamant.
For kids: a weekly Scrambled Word is available every Monday, as well as a weekly Seek-and-Find. The words are all February themed (think Valentine’s Day) and the hidden pictures are of ballet dancers known as the Swans of Harlem, for Black History Month. If you solve the word or find the dancer, you can earn a prize from the treasure chest.
Please remember that library cards are required for checkout. If you have lost your card, it can be replaced for a $2.00 charge. A great way to make sure you always have your card with you is to upload it to the SAILS Mobile app. It’s quick and easy and we’re happy to show you how it works.
Library hours are: Mondays/Thursdays 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm; Tuesdays/Wednesdays 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; Fridays 10:00 am to 5:00 pm; Saturdays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We are closed on Sundays and Holidays (Presidents Day February 17). The Library can be contacted by phone at 508-763-8600 or email at info@plumblibrary.com.
