Summer is in full swing at the Mattapoisett Library. This month, we have various activities to keep adults and teens busy.
Our summer yoga series continues on the library’s lawn on Thursdays, August 1, 8, 15, and 22, at 10:30 am. Sessions will be guided by Andrea DeVeau-Cabral. In the event of inclement weather, contact the library for updates. This is an adaptable experience for all levels of physical ability. No registration is required.
Take a fun-filled stroll down memory lane with Janice McIntyre’s presentation, World of Dolls, on Tuesday, August 6, at 12 pm. Feel free to bring your special doll to share with everyone at the end.
Join us on Tuesday, August 20 at 6 pm for a book signing with ORR English Teacher Kathleen Brunelle. In her new narrative nonfiction book, She’s Gone: Five Mysterious Twentieth-Century Cold Cases, Brunelle collects the true stories of five different women living in different decades who all have one thing in common: one moment they were busy living their lives and the next moment… they were gone. Books will be available for purchase at the library.
Check out our brand-new writing group on Tuesday, August 27 at 6 pm in the Marine Room. Bring your favorite writing accessories (e.g., paper, pen, computer) and get ready for the spark as ideas pop up in this creative writing session facilitated by Alanna Nelson. You’ll be on your way to creating work to submit to Sippizine, the community culture journal.
Stop by the library’s community room any time during the week of August 27 to view the exhibits for The Mattapoisett Sustainability Partnership’s third annual RE-Art: Recycled Art Show. A reception will follow on Saturday, August 31, at 2 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
All programs are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the library at mfpl@sailsinc.org, visit our website: MattapoisettLibrary.org, or stop by and see us at 7 Barstow Street Mattapoisett
