Vernal Pools177 viewsGary Johnson of the Mattapoisett Land Trust led about a dozen on an excursion to the vernal pool at the Woodcock Preserve off Long Plain Road on Saturday, April 16, where they spotted the egg masses of the blue-spotted salamander, a species of ‘special concern,’ and the wood frog. Twelfth Night177 viewsThe talented students at Rochester Memorial School presented their annual tribute to the Bard on Friday, April 29 as they performed Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.” RMS teacher Danni Kleiman has been adapting the scripts and directing the RMS Shakespeare plays for 27 years now. Kleiman explained the selection process for the annual Shakespearian play, saying, “I look at the talent that I have from the previous year,” says Kleiman. “I also look at the talent in the 5th grade and pick the play accordingly.” Kle

Kids Equipment Fun Day177 viewsSaturday, May 7, was the date for the annual Kids Equipment Fun Day at Washburn Park in Marion, sponsored by Marion Recreation. The kids climbed aboard ambulances, fire trucks, police cruisers, and even the harbormaster’s boat.
