Mother’s Day Tiara 5k181 viewsSunday’s wind and rain wasn’t stopping the hundreds who participated in the annual Mother’s Day Tiara 5k in Mattapoisett on May 10. The storm brought strong wind and cold rain to the area, especially at the turn around Ned’s Point Lighthouse, dampening the day but not the sentiment behind the Women’s Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts’ largest annual fundraising event. Family Fun Festival 181 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home.
