Led by Tai Chi Practitioner Colman Fink, 15 locals moved gracefully together with conscious breath in the downstairs of the Mattapoisett Free Library – thanks to the rain that dampened the plan to meet at Ned’s Point for a second year in a row. Butterfly Release192 viewsDebbie Thompson of Marion raised monarch butterflies from caterpillar to chrysalis with her preschool students and finally released them on September 26. This is the second year Thompson raised butterflies, tagged them, and released them into the wild with her students. “For the kids it’s such a magical thing,” said Thompson. The retired bog acreage is slowly returning to meadows and woodlands. But for now cranberries continue to grow giving the do-it-yourself harvester a chance to enjoy nature’s bounty.
