Extreme Engineering208 viewsOn Tuesday, July 31, dozens of curious students gathered at the Mattapoisett Library to join Dr. Martin Hudis in his Extreme Engineering program. The students participated in a variety of different exercises using remote controlled helicopters in a hands-on approach to learn valuable lessons in math and science. Marion Natural History Museum208 viewsLast week the Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool program welcomed the Cape Cod Cranberry Grower’s educator Dawn Allen. Students learned how to tell a ripe cranberry from a spoiled one and who some of the animals are that are found on a bog. They were able to try on the same types of waders the Ocean Spray guys wear on the tv commercials. The Museum’s next program is Nature Crafts, on December 12th.
