It’s All About the Animals, a non-profit cat shelter in Rochester, hosted its Halloween-themed outdoor event on Sunday, Octopurr 14, featuring live music, a huge raffle, lots of vendors and food and, of course, a glimpse of all the adorable kittens and cats available for adoption. Rochester turned 340 346 viewsHey, hey, it’s your birthday, Rochester! Rochester turned 340 years old on June 4, and the third grade class from RMS was invited to celebrate with some cake and ice cream at the senior center on Tuesday. Students started the day with a tour around historic Rochester before breaking for lunch and sharing a large birthday cake with seniors. Octopurr Fest346 viewsIt’s All About the Animals held its 5th annual Octopurr Fest on October 6. The fundraiser featured food, games, music, and craft booths. Owner and operator of the no-kill shelter, Pam Robinson, said 100 percent of all proceeds would go directly to the care of the felines. Robert Hiller Homecoming346 viewsRobert Hiller III finally returned on March 3 to his Eastover Farms-area home to a grand welcome of family and friends after a bout with the EEE virus that put the Rochester resident in a coma for 19 days and held him in hospital care for seven months. Grandparent's Day345 viewsIt was a perfect autumn day for the SouthCoast Senior Resource Alliance Grandparents Day at Hiller Farm in Rochester on September 19. Children and their grandparents had fun playing bean-bag toss, bocce, posing with the Three Stooges, and more. The face-painting and petting zoo areas were a complete hit! Car Show Dreams345 views108 cars attended the A Wish Come True car show on October 11, 2009 at Rochesters Plumb Corner. Each vehicle owner paid to attend the show, and the proceeds went to the organization, which works to grant wishes to children ages 3-18 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. Rochester Country Fair345 viewsRochesters Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez.

It was brought into town on Rochester's Ladder 1, formerly "Ladder 49" of FDNY.
