Christmas Posters 190 viewsChristmas posters created by RMS fifth graders hang on the walls of Town Hall, a tradition in Rochester year after year. The winner of the poster contest was Arianna Vinagre, who got to light the tree at the tree lighting ceremony.

Rochester Memorial Day190 viewsRochester fared far better with its Memorial Day celebration than Marion and Mattapoisett did with theirs on rainy Monday. Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade. At the Town Hall, the names of the fallen soldiers were read aloud and the Rochester Memorial School Band played patriotic songs before heading out for the parade. Photos by Colin Veitch

The country fair committee held a tractor pull/swap fundraiser on April 29. Those who attended got an early taste of the sights, sounds, and smells of the Rochester Country Fair with dirt flying, engines blasting, and diesel smoke billowing up into the air. Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race190 viewsIt rained, again, for the Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race on Monday, May 29, but that never stops the participants from paddling the 14 miles of the Mattapoisett River that winds from Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir in Snipatuit Pond in Rochester all the way to the Herring Weir in Mattapoisett off River Road and Route 6.
