Raising over $7,000, owner/operator Pam Robinson said this year’s event was “absolutely over the top!” The shelter is in the process of building an addition to create a cat room and a porch. “I cannot thank everyone enough for their wonderful donation and participation,” said Robinson. It’s the holiday season in Rochester now that the tree is lit followed by the arrival of jolly old Saint Nick via fire engine on December 4 to usher in the holiday season. The Rochester Memorial School band and chorus treated revelers to a festive performance, while Christmas poster winner Tessa Winslow had the honor of flipping the switch to light the holiday tree. 108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair 277 viewsThe 108th Annual Rochester Grange Fair was held on August 18 with a wide variety of produce, floral bouquets, baked goods, handicrafts, and works of art. The state first place winner for her diorama depicting a barn that contained fresh eggs and produce was Susan Guiducci of Dartmouth. There were a total of 35 entries vying for other blue ribbons in many other categories. Sue LaFluer, grange secretary and one of the fair organizers said that participants ranged in age from 6 years of age and beyond.
