Rochester Green Ways 287 viewsOn Wednesday, May15th the Rochester Green Ways Committee met to work on its Wildflower Garden in the center of town. Members cleaned up winter debris, weeded the beds that are filled with native and introduced plants that are called weeds by some and planted new seed for this and future years beauty. This is a necessary chore that was enhanced by the fact that it was held on the state and national Plant Something Day.

Octopurrfest287 viewsThe Rochester cat shelter “It’s All About the Animals” held its 2nd Annual Octopurrfest on Sunday, October 2. Raising over $7,000, owner/operator Pam Robinson said this year’s event was “absolutely over the top!” The shelter is in the process of building an addition to create a cat room and a porch. “I cannot thank everyone enough for their wonderful donation and participation,” said Robinson. Leaving Portland, Oregon on May 2, the two childhood friends arrived at Buteyne’s parents’ driveway about a month earlier than anticipated, greeted by family, friends, confetti, cookies, and of course, hugs.
