Sippican Woman’s Club 61 viewsThe Sippican Woman’s Club along with several homes splendidly decked-out for holiday celebrations were opened to the public on December 7. Breathtaking decorations coupled with spectacular homes both vintage and new were a visual feast. Since 1947 the club has given back to the community in the form of scholarships to area students. Clean Up61 viewsAfter a rainy Saturday, the Scouts from Pack 32 and Troop 32 of Marion along with countless volunteers from the community spent the morning on Sunday, April 27 cleaning up multiple areas around town. With the generous support of the Washburn Park Trust, the scouts, their families and countless volunteers started their spring-cleaning donating numerous items to a local charity (Gifts to Give). Marion Natural History Museum 60 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum enjoyed a presentation by Stephanie Ellis, executive director of Wild Care, Inc. We heard how various animals get hurt, be it hit by a car, rat-poisoned birds of prey, glue traps, etc., and how Wild Care takes care of many wildlife species in their organization. Stephanie brought in "Garv," the Eastern Box Turtle; he was raised as a pet and does not know how to survive in the woods anymore.
