Great Pumpkin Contest4 viewsThe Elizabeth Taber Library is once again celebrating Halloween with their Great Pumpkin Contest. Visitors to the library can check out a real pumpkin for free with their library card, then return their decorated pumpkin by Wednesday October 23 to be entered into the contest. Since 1922, the National Fire Protection Association has been helping local fire departments with educational materials related to fire safety.

First Congregational Church of Marion Summer Fair3 viewsThe First Congregational Church of Marion Summer Fair was held on July 27 with an effort to raise funds for the restoration of its clock tower. Main Street was closed to traffic so visitors could enjoy several booths full of goods for sale, along with sports equipment, while visiting the Penny Pinchers’ Exchange, a lobster roll or a burger or dog from the grill. The event took registrants to five destinations to view and appreciate the growing and arranging of seasonal plants yielding nourishment. Funds raised by the event support the library.
