Our group had a blast making ornaments (and eating junk food) during the event, and everyone brought home an ornament or two to share with the family.

Marion Natural History Museum 9 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum would like to thank Mike and Jake Cronin for providing another exciting rocket program last week. The museum’s after-school group had a chance to hear about engines and what goes into making a rocket. Then the students built their own rockets, with nosecones, parachutes and motors and went outside to launch them. The program was a huge success, and all the rockets were successfully launched. Summer Reading Program9 viewsAs a kickoff to the summer reading program at the Elizabeth Taber Library and summer Natural History Museum programming, the Town of Marion was treated to a visit from a full-size whale, two very large dinosaurs and one baby dino named Spike. The Summer Block Party event held on June 24 started inside the Music Hall due to weather but later moved outside. The event also featured faux archeology digs and face painting. Blessing of the Fleet9 viewsThe Reverend Eric Fialho, rector at Saint Gabriel’s Parish, presided as the Town of Marion held its first-ever Blessing of the Fleet on January 1 in Sippican Harbor. One tradition well established the past half-dozen years was the sunflower in the outer harbor, where several vessels tied up to one another at the stern and aimed their bows outward toward the sea in 360-degree formation.
