During the program the students had a chance to view videos of hatchling turtles, learn a little about sea turtle biology, and handle some live terrapins. Hot-To-Trot Dog Walk185 viewsOn November 30, a spring-like winter’s day, the Sippican Lands Trust held its 2nd annual Hot-To-Trot Post-Thanksgiving Day dog walk. About 12 dogs of all shapes and sizes brought their humans out for a guided tour of the White Eagle property located off Route 6 in Marion. Dogs received stylish orange neckerchiefs and dog treats. Marion Natural History Museum185 viewsOn Wednesday, Dec. 10th, the Marion Natural History Museum afterschool group enjoyed working on crafts from nature and recycled materials. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this such a happy and fun-filled event. Many, many thanks to Grace Moran for her kind donation of frames complete with glass, which the students used to create their own masterpieces for gift-giving. Marion Firefighter’s Association185 viewsThe Marion Firefighter’s Association held its annual spaghetti supper fundraiser on Saturday, January 31 at the Marion VFW. Marion Natural History Museum185 viewsMany thanks to state-certified forester Phil Benjamin, Brian Butler of Oxbow Associates, and Gary Johnson of the Mattapoisett Land Trust, for donating their time and expertise to introduce the Old Hammondtown School sixth grade to the several of the unique ecosystems in Nasketucket State Park. Phil led a walk through the upland forests along the "Holly Trail", Brian led a walk along the intertidal shoreline, and Gary introduced the students to a vernal pool.

Annual Marion SpringFest185 viewsMay 9 was the day of the Annual Marion SpringFest sponsored by the Sippican Lands Trust and the Tree and Parks Committee! There was a performance by the Toe Jam Puppet Band, a Birds of Prey demonstration, face painting, and a rock-climbing wall.
