5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot184 viewsThere were 31 registered runners for this year’s 5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot for Marion Recreation on Sunday, November 22. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor. Hot to Trot184 viewsThe third annual “Hot to Trot” dog walk hosted by the Sippican Lands Trust brought about 20 dogs and at least twice as many humans out for a post-Thanksgiving walk at the SLT’s White Eagle property in Marion on November 29. Ice Sculpture at the Marion Art Center184 viewsIn front of the Marion Art Center, Tim Wade carved out an ice sculpture of a train on December 13, an unseasonably warm December day. Marion Christmas Stroll 184 viewsThe Marion Christmas Stroll is one of the quintessential holiday events in Tri-Town, with Santa making his grand entrance via boat and hopping aboard a horse-drawn carriage to ride through Marion village with some lucky kids who hop aboard with him. Library Henna184 viewsThe Elizabeth Taber Library hosted a henna tattoo program for teens, with each guest receiving their own henna creation by professional henna artist Heather Cault-Nulton. The art of henna dates back thousands of years and has recently grown in popularity. As part of a new initiative to draw teens into the library, the afternoon henna event was held on March 1 and attracted 13 area teens to experience the beauty of henna. Photos by Colin Veitch
