Marion Natural History Museum190 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank the Marion Harbormaster's office for a wonderful trip to Bird Island. The students were able to visit the island and see some of the birds that rely on this special habitat for raising their young. The children saw Oystercatchers, Osprey, and Terns. They also learned a little about the history of the lighthouse. The Sippican Lands Trust wants to thank the Town because the platform would not have been possible without funding from the Community Preservation Act Fund. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor. Turtle Care190 viewsSome of the residents of Jenney Lane at The Cove in Marion have found a new passion in rescuing diamond-backed terrapin eggs and safely releasing the hatchlings into the wild. A private neighborhood group, along with “Turtle Guy” Don Lewis and wife Sue Weiber Nourse, created a terrapin habitat restoration project knows as the turtle garden at The Cove.
